Unknown

Dont you just hate when you get a missed call from a number that comes up "unknown"? Well i sure do. Usually you have absolutely no idea who it was that was calling and to top it off they dont leave a voicemail. Well i faced waiting for this "unknown" phone call for 2 weeks. The nurse who did my amniocentesis 2 weeks ago explained to me that i would be receiving a phone call from the doctors that would come through as "unknown". They would only call and speak directly to me and not leave a voicemail if i missed the call. No emails either. That is pretty stressful.

The past few days, i missed 3" unknown" phone calls and it really bothered me because i knew exactly what it was! 2 of the calls had hung up on me right when i answered too. Thats the worst too. But finally, after 13 days of waiting for my test results, i finally got them back!

I am relieved to announce that firstly, we 100% are having a baby girl. She has two X chromosomes! And secondly, all 46 of her chromosomes are normal! We have a healthy baby girl on the way! The protein levels for Gastroschisis are still high, but we already had the diagnosis, so we take that day by day. But just to know that she is healthy and will be able to have a better chance now makes me so happy. We are excited to carry out our pregnancy and give her the best life we possibly can.

Tomorrow i will be officially 20 weeks pregnant and i will be meeting with my high risk doctor in the morning as well. I hope he can tell us how severe everything is and any other information that i may need to help me stay positive. I will be on close monitoring and weekly check ups which i dont mind because i will have weekly ultrasound photos to show our little one as she gets older! This journey continues now on a much more positive note and the excitement of becoming a mother is back in full swing. We will also be making a public announcement of what we will be naming her in the next week or so and i will update on how everything goes tomorrow with the new doctor!

Stay tuned!
